Attention: Direct Deposit Recipients Including Social Security

Many of our members have chosen to have a portion of their deposit going to other accounts including loans, Christmas Clubs, children's accounts, etc. These distributions take place as long as everything about the way the deposit comes in remains the same. Any change in the company ID or the company name result in these transfers not taking place which can mean delinquent loans, and underfunded checking accounts, Christmas Clubs and children's accounts. In the case of Social Security, numerous changes have taken place in the past several months with more to come. We have worked tirelessly with our data processor to eliminate any disruption to your account. While we do our best to monitor these accounts, the final responsibility will rest with you. Please check your statements carefully! If you notice more money in one account, be sure to check your other accounts. If there is a discrepancy, please bring it to our attention. If you have any questions, please ask to discuss this with a member of management, or an ACH (direct deposit) staff member.

Secured Credit Cards Are Here

Need help establishing or repairing your credit? Secured credit cards are here! Credit limits start at $200 and you won't need a cosigner. You decide your credit limit and deposit 120% of that in your account. For example, for a limit of $200, you would need $240 on deposit. For a $500 credit limit, you would need $600 in your account. Just deposit the money and complete a short application. Any member in good standing will be approved!

NCUA Insurance Coverage Change

NCUA insurance coverage, including share drafts (checking) is $250,000. Effective 1/1/13, share drafts will no longer be separately insured. To maximize insurance coverage beyond $250,000, please contact Kathy at ext. 212 or visit: http://www.ncua.gov/Legal/GuidesEtc/GuidesManuals/NCUAShareInsuranceAndYou.pdf

Help Save Lives By Donating Old Shoes

When Emma Rider from Bridgeville learned that a child in developing countries dies every 15 seconds from drinking impure water, she wanted to do something to help. She found out that she could do this by collecting shoes. The shoes would then be sold to an exporter through EDGE OUTREACH and resold to small businessmen around the world. The money is then used to purchase water purification systems which can purify 10,000 gallons of water each day. To date, she has collected nearly 40,000 shoes. SFCU is proud to be one of the drop-off locations for this project. For more information, click here. Pictured are SFCU's Heather Kellam (right) with Emma.
