Field of Membership
SFCU can serve anyone who lives, works, worships or goes to
school in Sussex County, Delaware including the City of Milford
and immediate family members of current members. There are other
ways to qualify; call the office for details.
How to Join
It's
easy for qualified members to discover the credit union advantage!
Check the field of membership to ensure that you are eligible
to become a member. Simply print and complete the Account Card,
and mail or bring it to the office with a minimum of $10. If not signing the Card in the office, your signature will need to be notarized. A non-expired government issued photo ID is required before an account can be opened (ex: state issued ID/driver's license). If your address has changed since the ID was issued, we will then need a paystub or copy of a bill to verify your address.
There is a $5 membership fee and the balance is deposited to
your account. This $5 represents your one share that gives you
the right to vote at the annual meeting. Once you have been
entered into our system, we will send you a membership packet
which includes your member number and more information on our
various services and products.
In order to comply with the Patriot Act, SFCU is required to verify the identity of all members. We must obtain, verify and record information that identifies each person who opens an account.
You will be asked to provide your:
1. Name
2. Mailing Address and Street Address (if different)
3. Social Security Number or Taxpayer Identification Number
4. Date of Birth
5. Copy of government issued photo ID such as driver's license, passport, or State issued ID. We cannot accept expired IDs.
